Holiday in Puncak: Taman Bunga Nusantara

10 Jul

Taman Bunga Nusantara is also a good place for family holiday destination in Puncak, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is like a huge amusement park but with flowers as attraction. Not only it has flowers, but also:

1️⃣ Peacock Plant-Statue

The welcome plant-statue for visitors who enter the entrance. Can you the peacock’s tail beautifully design from flowers on the ground? 🙂

2️⃣ Water Garden

It is called Water Garden because there is a pond and swimming gooslings on the pond.

3️⃣ Maze Garden

The maze is made of from plant. It is too big that we decided not to come into the maze, remembering we came with Baby O (no stroller and no carrier) and Baby O’s grandparents. So we just see the beautiful maze from the control tower. 😀

4️⃣ Musical Fountain

This is not just ordinary fountain. This is a water-dancing fountain along with the musical music that play along in the area. Baby O had so much fun in here 🙂

5️⃣ Rose Garden

Can you see the arches? They make up the rose garden beautifully. I bet many couples took pre-wedding photos here. 🙂

6️⃣ Play Park

Baby O’s first time experience riding a horse, unfortunately still accompanied by me. Because husband is afraid of horse 😅 And Baby O liked it very much. He always rewatch the video of him riding the horse at home every night before bed 😂

7️⃣ And many more 💚💚💚

If we google “Taman Bunga Nusantara” or open its official website (click here), the pictures are far more beautiful than pictures in this blog. The park is indeed beautiful, but somehow it is hard to take beautiful pictures there with using selfie stick. Perhaps we might need to use drone so we can capture the beauty from above. 🙂

Oh, and it was crowded when we went there on eid fitr holiday this year. We thought it was because of the eid fitr holiday, turned out we went there at the exact same time and date with Mr. President and his family (Mrs. First Lady and Ms. First Daughter) visit. No wonder it was too crowded. Can you count how many guards that came along with him? 😂

Holiday in Puncak: The Ranch Mega Mendung

3 Jul

The Ranch Mega Mendung, newest favorite place in puncak. It was just newly launched during eid fitr holiday this year. Visitors need to pay entrance fee, but we get free milk in return, or could be treated as food & drink coupon. Yeay! 😆

The Ranch Mega Mendung is a combination of restaurant and playground. The restaurant offers tasty Taste of Bandung food, yummy 😋. While the playground in The Ranch Mega Mendung is rather a family playground than just kid playground because there are so many attractions that could be done as a family. Or at least parents and their kids. Such as:

1️⃣ Horse riding

Only those who are 90cm tall may ride it, so Baby O was still not allowed to. Kids who are still afraid to ride alone can be accompanied by adult from below.

2️⃣ Feeding the calves

Which Baby O was afraid of. It was his first time experience seeing any calves, let alone feeding them. 😀

3️⃣ Feeding the rabbits in front of their holes

Which Baby O was still a little afraid too, eventhough he greeted the rabbits cheerly from afar. Let mommy works on this another time

4️⃣ Feeding baby lambs on the field

Photo taken by Haikal Mahfuz Rize with iPhone 5s only

Unfortunately, it was Baby O’s breastfeeding time and we had been there for too long. So we didn’t check whether Baby O brave enough to fed the baby lambs or not

5️⃣ And many other kid-friendly attractions 🙂

There are also many attractive spots to take pictures to. It is totally a holiday destination for family 👶🏻🐴🐮🐰🐑⛰

Holiday in Singapore: Kill the Time in Changi Airport

29 May

Whenever going to an airport, some people choose to arrive near the departure time. Probably because they already web checked in their seat from home. Some other choose to arrive at least 2 hours before departure time, eventhough they already web checked in from home. Probably because they are afraid of sudden change in flight schedule and makes them late or left behind.

But Changi Airport is not just any airport. It is one the best airport in the world. And as a connecting airport of many flights from and to Asia Pacific, it has many attractions to entertain passengers while waiting for their next flight. On our back home to Indonesia, we purposedly arrive 4 hours before the departure time to be able to visit the attraction sites in Changi Airport. 😀

Here is the few list of many attractions that we visited in Changi:

Terminal 1: Cactus Garden

It is a rooftop garden with many kinds of cactus planted alive. We love it so much to be here, because it is rooftop garden (no explanation needed, ahem) with airplane runaway as background (so cool). We never imagined Singapore as a green country, especially its airport. Hats down 👏🏻

Terminal 2: Koi Pond

For some people, looking at swimming koi fish can give some calm feeling. It is a beautiful view to see the fish swimming around. The fish are big and not afraid of humans. In this pond, kids may feed the fish at the feeding time.

Terminal 3: Butterfly Garden

This place is more beautiful than the cactus garden 😍. Not only alive plants that we can see here, but also the alive butterflies that fly all over the places. As a big city kid, this is where Baby O saw real life butterflies for the first time 🙈.

Terminal 3: Birds in Flight

It is a contemporary art of a flock of bird as symbol for traveling. The art which seen as beautiful for some people, and just cool for other people. 🙂

Baby O with The helpful stroller that can be freely rented inside any terminal in the airport. There was also free rented wheelchair for those in need

There are so many attractive attractions in Changi Airport. If we happen to be strandred here for several hours, no need to worry. Make a lemonade out of it 🙂

Holiday in Singapore: One Full Day in Sentosa

8 May

Some people say, it us a waste of money to go on holiday with a baby/toddler. The baby/toddler will not remember it, they say. Oh well, the baby/toddler may not remember it, but there will be pictures of them on holiday to be looked at when they are older, is not that a sweet memory to remember?

And who say the holiday is only for the baby/toddler? The parents might need the holiday more than the baby/toddler. To refresh the parents mind from the hectic daily routines. There is no reason to say no, let us travel with our baby/toddler since they are young. 🙂

With this point of view in mind, husband and I traveled to Singapore with 1 year 1 month old Baby O. We visited Sentosa one full day, before lunch until dinner time. Who said we can not have fun in Sentosa with baby/toddler in hand? There were many attractions to be visited in Sentosa when we traveled with Baby O:

1️⃣ S.E.A. Aquarium in Marine Life Park

Just keep swimming, fish. Next time, we swim together 🐠🐟🐡

Baby O loved to be here. He liked to see the swimming school of fish. Although he was a bit of afraid with the manta fish, probably because it’s way bigger than him in size. 😀

Behind every #travelingbaby, there are brave parents who think #travelwithbaby is a possible thing to do, because it is possible indeed 👶🏻✈️🎒👣

2️⃣ Trick Eye Museum

Probably not the best destination if there are only 3 people in the group, and we wish to get everybody in the frames. Like the name, it needs special photo angel to get best pictures here, which can not be done by using selfie stick.

3️⃣ (In front of) Universal Studio

Behind every #travelingbaby, there are picky parents who only want to go to #babyfriendly places when #travelwithbaby

The mandatory place to take picture in Sentosa, checked. No, of course we did not enter or even played in the Universal Studio. There was not much attraction for kid below 2 years old here.

4️⃣ (In front of) Sentosa’s Merlion Statue

Behind every #travelingbaby, there are brave parents who think #travelwithbaby is a possible thing to do, because it is possible indeed 👶🏻✈️🎒👣

Not really the mandatory place to take picture in Singapore, since the real Merlion Statue is in Marina Bay Sands. But we took it anyway

5️⃣ Cable Car

Behind every #travelingbaby, there are careful parents who need to adjust the traveling itinerary with baby’s pace

The least expected attraction yet husband and I really enjoyed our time in the cable car. Part of it was because Baby O was half asleep during breastfeeding time. The other part was because we could see Sentosa from above. Never imagined Sentosa could be so green 💚

6️⃣ Skyline Luge

Behind every #travelingbaby, there are exhausted parents who need their kind of holiday too. Including daddy, with his toy cars 👱🏻🚗

This was also a surprisingly fun attraction for us. It was an enjoyable ride going down the hill with wheels without any machine on it, just gravity. Husband said, he would definitely ride it again if we visit Singapore sometime in the future 😀

To go uphill again, we rode provided skyline which kind of like transparant cable car. It was kind of our way to introduce Baby O with height. He cried at first, but it was a good lesson for him that he needed to face his fear to move forward, no need to run away from it. Traveling is about real life learning after all. 🙂

The truth is I could never imagine going on holiday without my best 2 travel buddies. Love you, my boys! 😘

Holiday in Singapore: Baby O’s First Time Holiday Abroad

24 Apr

The trip to Singapore was actually a surprise birthday gift from husband to Baby O (March) and me (April). Never saw husband buy the airplane tickets, out of sudden on Baby O’s birthday, husband handed the 2 ways flight tickets to us. He said, “I know it is Baby O’s birthday, but mommy gets birthday gift too”. So there were we, on my 28th birthday.

Thank you very much, dearest husband for the birthday gift. As people say, don’t spend on time-limited things, better spend on timeless memory 😘❤️❤️

Why Singapore?

Not sure why husband chose Singapore, because our original plan was to visiting Thailand. But thankfully he chose correctly, because turned out, Singapore is a very baby friendly country:

☑️ It is very easy to find baby room, or at least the Koala Kare (diaper changing station)

☑️ Some baby rooms provide hot water dispenser. Very helpful for parents who need to warm baby milk/baby foods

☑️ Some baby rooms are equipped with automated door, no need to open/close door with handle 🙌🏻

☑️ Pedestrians can be accessed via stair way or slope. Very helpful for parents who use stroller

☑️ Public transports (mrt & bus) have reserved seats for parent carrying baby. Other passangers even give seat for without being asked 😱

Very love to go back there again, dear husband 😂. Bye now, until Baby O meets you some time in the future 👶🏻✋🏻👋🏻

Relax And Enjoy The Trip

25 Mar

Because vacation
…is also building up the courage to request for annual leaves to boss at work
…is also negotiating and compromising with our holiday partner’s pace and interest
…is also about taking double jobs just to cover the expenses during vacation
…is also having an overnight at the airport for 7 hours waiting in between flights
…is also 9 hours riding on the train
…is also meeting someone new and sharing story and experience, both with local people and other travelers
…is also sleeping less time just to catch the sunrise on the peak of the mountain
…is also riding a motorcycle to a far away land just to catch the sunset
…is also prioritizing what to buy and what not on a tight budget
…is also taking a breath on the breath-taking view
…is also relaxing our mind and body from the daily activities we usually deal with

So why not enjoy every moment of it by not worrying the result and or amount of pictures that we take?

Let’s have another trip. 🙂

scholars beasiswa whatever

22 Apr

suatu ketika saya berkata pada salah seorang teman.teman. gw pengen dapet beasiswa nihh“. tidak jelas kenapa saya mengatakan hal seperti itu kepadanya. mungkin saya sedang stress. atau bingung. atau iseng. saya tidak tahu. lupa lebih tepatnya. si teman merespon ucapan saya dengan baik sekali. kelewat antusias malah.hayuu hayuu. cari beasiswa yuu nad. mau gak?“.

kurang jelas saat itu. apakah maksud teman saya mencari beasiswa di internet atau di lembaga kemahasiswaan institut tempat kami menuntut ilmu ini. lalu dia melanjutkan “hayu hari senin k pcad. slambersi lagi ngadain beasiswa kan. kita tanya-tanya aja kesana. gimana? mau gak?”.

ditawari seperti itu saya mau. tapi yang berkecamuk di otak saya saat itu sebenarnya slambersi? apaan tuh? perusahaan gak jelas mana nih yang mau ngasih beasiswa?’. lalu saya pun tersadar. mungkin yang dimaksud teman saya itu slambersjze. si perusahaan minyak yang berbasis di Perancis. ketika saya mengoreksi teman saya dengan mengatakan bukan slambersi tapi slambersjze cara membaca schlumberger. teman saya bilang “apa pun lah. lw ngerti kan maksud gw. jadi mau ya hari senin?’.

“ok.”

***

===o0o===

petualangan berhenti disana hari itu. kami pun kembali ke ruang kuliah. untuk belajar?
wah.. tidak tau juga yaa ;D
