What’s So Funny About Tumblr

15 Jul

Did you remember my last post about Tumblr (to read it click here)? I mentioned something about ReBlog and Heart-This-Post features on Tumblr.

So recently I rejoinned on Tumblr. Only this time, I was able to distuingish the difference usages of my WordPress and my New-Tumblr (to read it click here). I had the later to record my journals related to my activities in learning other languages. I wished that I wouldn’t fail like the last time I had a Tumblr blog. I really wished that I wouldn’t because it showed a certain tendency to reach that stage, again :p

At first, I seemed to successfully fulfilled my purpose on Tumblr. Until one day, I did tumblr-blogwalking. Then I started to follow Tumblr blogs that had nothing to do with my origin purpose. At that time, I thought it would only be for fun.

By following any blogs, again, on Tumblr, it made me remembered something about that I’ve actually already found when I first joined it. This following, reblog, and heart features on Tumblr made the bloggers follow any Tumblr blogs that interested them, also reblogged and or hearted any posts from the Tumblr blogs they followed. And I also fall for it. I reblogged some posts that had nothing to do with my purpose on having a Tumblr blog 😐

I think this is the reason why there are so many non-personal blogs on Tumblr. Too many people published their works on some administered Tumblr blogs. And you wouldn’t imagine how many times an interesting post would be published on different Tumblr blogs. Redundant posts, of course.

There are many Tumblr blogs that are focused on publishing some certain things, devoting the blogs to only one topic. Like this Tumblr blog that I recently joinned due to my big interest on Russia (to read it click here). This Tumblr blog devoted to be photography blog (to read it click here). This one devoted to publish quotes on the blog (to read it click here). Or this Tumblr blog because of my big interest on German National Football Team (to read it click here), especially Thomas Mueller 😉 Definitely not a kind of personal blogs that we usually find in WordPress and or Blogspot.

You wouldn’t imagine how many posts that the owners of that kind of Tumblr blog would submit every day. Wait until you follow them. And just by following a Tumblr blog that publishes anything about Thomas Mueller, I already feel like one of Mueller’s cyber stalker haha 😉

Features on (Micro) Blogs

3 Jun

So yeah.. WordPress is improving. It got new features called Reblog and Like-This-Post, though they aren’t brand new features in blogging-world.

Do you remember that I had Tumblr once on early 2009? My friend was the one who introduced me to Tumblr. And the fact that my sister had signed up for Tumblr not long before my friend introduced me to it, definitely provoked me to also did so. So voila! I signed up a Tumblr account.

What I like from Tumblr were the Love-This-Post feature and of course Reblog feature. The thing that I didn’t like from Tumblr, and also the reason why I quitted it, was Tumblarity. Sure as hell those are what Tumblr is all about, to reblog the posts you love and keep your Tumblarity high by reblog and love more posts.

For you who don’t know, Tumblarity is the rate of how active we are on Tumblr, like Karma on Plurk. The differences are:
1. The highest Karma’s score on Plurk is 100 whilst the highest Tumblarity’s score on Tumblr is… I don’t know.. a million maybe..?
2. We get more icons than can be used on our Plurk’s status update by getting a higher Karma’s score whilst the user who get higher Tumblarity’s score get nothing but more popularity on Tumblr.

I never, don’t want to, and won’t ever care about how active I am with my (micro)blog(s). That’s why I quittted Tumblr, tried to focus on my WordPress, never interested to try Plurk, and rather prefer with Twitter than it.

There’s no Twitter’s activity rate though there are ReTweet and Fave features in Twitter. I like both of them. We can also follow (and be followed by) another user in Twitter (also on Tumblr and Plurk) to get the updated contents. We could do such activity on WordPress and other kind of blog with Subscription feature, but somehow I subscribe no blogger.

So, even WordPress’ new Reblog and Like-This-Post features aren’t originally from WordPress, but I still keep my faith on WordPress. And I’ll keep my faith on it as long as WordPress isn’t planning to add another new feature such WPactivity. Blah! I’ll loathe it.

It’s Official Now

15 May

It’s official now that i become the new TUMBLR. addict hahahha…

Kalau biasanya saat membuka firefox, situs yang saya buka pertama kali adalah dashboard wordpress saya > blog teman saya > blog teman saya lagi > inbox gmail saya > inbox yahoomail saya > facebook home saya.. Sekarang urutannya harus digeser, diselipi dashboard tumblr saya sebelum membuka tab dashboard wordpress hehe

dashboard tumblr.

dashboard tumblr.

So guys.. meet me also at me new blog here. See you there 😉
