Baby O’s First Time Experience [2]

4 Jun

This is the 2nd part of Baby O’s first time experience post. To read the 1st part, click here.

Baby O’s First Time Photo Session

Baby O was 6 weeks 2 days old when husband’s family went to Jonas Photo Studio in Summarecon Mall Serpong. Husband’s brother didn’t have his graduation’s photo yet, while his graduation day was back in 2014. Husband’s family were in Jakarta that long weekend for Baby O’s aqiqah.

So Baby O and I tagged along to the mall, and also took 3 shots for Baby O’s photo in the studio. Of course it was plenty times retake to make sure the photos could capture Baby O’s best facial expression :D.

So what do you think of Baby O’s first time photo session?

Baby O’s First Time Wedding Reception

Baby O was 7 weeks 2 days old when husband and I attended Dinta’s wedding. Dinta is Danti’s sister, a friend of mine since colleague time. I still remember the time I attended Dinta’s sweet 17th birthday party back in Bandung. And exactly that day last year, Dinta was the guest of my wedding :D. How time flies fast.

Baby O was calm during the wedding reception, always looking up, perhaps amazed with the bright lightning. He was also calmly mingled for the first time with his non-blood related aunties, uncles, and sister in the event. I might not need to worry much about Baby O’s social skill in the future. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Baby O’s First Time Playdate

They weren’t really playing neither dating, but let’s just say it was playdate. Baby O, 8 weeks 1 day old, was having his regular sunbath while baby-girl-next-door came approached with her nanny. She then circulated Baby O and rocked Baby O’s chair because it was indeed a rocking chair. It happened for almost 15 minutes. What a girl magnet ๐Ÿ˜‰

We really can’t wait to let Baby O makes his other first time experience! ๐Ÿ™‚

Expensive Toys for Kids Nowadays

15 Apr

My cousin just had his 7th birthday this weekend. Me and BF couldn’t come to the (blessing) party due to a thing or two, and cousin’s mother gave us her permission not to come to her son’s (blessing) party by buying the cousin foosball as forgiveness-birthday-gift.

ImageSeriously dear 7 years old cousin? Are you gonna rob me or what?

Haha. *stressing out*

Remembering the old times and reading back my old post in bahasa indonesia in here, the expensive toy I had when I was a little kid in elementary school was probably full-set-Lego. Mom bought me roller skate when I was a bigger kid in elementary school, but it wasn’t even costed a hundred dollar back then. When tamagotchi or otopet was a hip in early 2000, I didn’t even have them.

Does it really have to be foosball? 2 years ago, he asked for remote controlled helicopter. Last year, he asked for iPad. Kid these days, ckckck. I can’t imagine how will the era of my kid in the future will be.

I’m actually glad my cousin could get away from his latest-expensive-toy, iPad. Believe me, I had my personal laptop back in 2006 when I was in college. And I didn’t see it as expensive toy that time, just gadget that I needed to support my college time. Him and his iPad? Play time.

Should parents nowadays buy expensive toys to compensate their children not to play only with gadgets?

Dear cousin, in hollywood movie that I watched in my teenager time, foosball is located only at the bar or cafe. It’s a game to play when hang out with friends. Not something that they own personally at their house, or even place it in their bedroom. No matter how spoiled brat they are, except for Richie Rich. Maybe.

Bottomline is, please consider to request another birthday gift, would you? :p

Sincerely, your-outdated-and-flat-broke-cousin.

What We Can Learn From Cartoons

10 Mar

I know I’m already twenty-something, but that doesn’t mean I have to leave my habit to read manga, to watch anime, to enjoy cartoons, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ย My younger sister who doesn’t like any kind of cartoons would never understand that we could really learn alot from cartoons. Believe me.

We could learn about japan alot from Detective Conan. Could you believe I learned about Narita International Airport from it? We could learn about classical music from Nodame Cantabile and Piano No Mori. Rachmaninoff, Chopin, beat me. We could learn about medical things from Say Hell to Black Jack, the one that led me watching tons of hollywood serial tv aboutย lifes in the hospital.

We could learn about working environment fromย Dilbert. I’ve been reading it since I was still in school from Kompas Newspaper, not understand any of the jokes, until now, the time for me to enter the real life. We could learn about campus life fromย PhD Comics. I’m not a graduate student, but I could enjoy most of the strips because it turns out all campus life is almost the same. ๐Ÿ™‚

*
What do we have when there’s no entertainment left at home? Our television, I guess. Don’t expect too much from local programs. I ratherย choose to watch Upin & Ipin than to watch any of those unimaginably nonsenseย sinetron. We could learn too many life lessons and wisdoms without being bored by it. And the most inspirational cartoons for me by far? SpongeBob SquarePants!

I remember how I used to dislike SpongeBob when I was still in junior high school and grunted whenever it was aired on television. It just didn’t make any sense to me. A living sponge which talks like human and lives under the sea? Those citizens of Bikini Bottom also have rainy days, again, under the sea, and all normal things like us who normally live above the sea. No way.

Don’t blame me if Stephen Hillenburg meant to create SpongeBob as a sea sponge instead of a kitchen sponge.

But by time, I learned that the living sponge isn’t the kitchen sponge we use to wash the dishes, but the sea sponge that indeed is a living creature, thanks to senior high school biology! And hey, all cartoons are not making any of our senses, that’s the beauty of them. That’s why they’re cartoons. ๐Ÿ™‚

Or perhaps, I didn’t like to watch SpongeBob in the past because I didn’t really understand the jokes, hence I saw it weird. And whoever says SpongeBob SquarePants is something for kids to watch, I tell you what, it’s not. Whoever says mangas are something for kids to read, I tell you what, they’re not. They’re actually made for adults in a cute way, so kids (and people who don’t know) will disguise it as kids’ consumable goods.

Did you know that as a character, SpongeBob was born on July 14th, 1986? ๐Ÿ˜€

Namanya Anggi

16 Feb

Barbie menjawab, “What are you, six?“.

Lucu. Dan unyu.

*

How Many Siblings Do You Have?

1 Jun

Do you ever think about it? About how many siblings do we have and the impact that cause by it to our life. I have 2 siblings, a younger sister and a younger brother. Yes, I’m the eldest.

In Indonesia, and other developing countries, 2-3 children at home is normal. 1 is rare, more than 3 is big. Whilst in developed countries (read: especially Europes), “a child only at home is normal. 2 children is maximum amount, more than 2 is bizzare”, said my friend.

Can you see the difference? Them who live in the developed countries, who must be prosper enough than us, only have 1 child while we, who live in the developing countries, can’t stop ourself to have more than 1 child.

Okay.. they might be not me or even you remembering that we haven’t married yet. But I bet somehow they are our parents.. and grandparents.. our ancestors.

They have been doing it since decades ago, while people in developed countries also have been doing the thinking of “a child only is best” also in decades ago. Our ancestors may have seem to forget about the amount of mouths they have to feed before the mouths they have been feeding later on could feed them.

The fact actually proves one thing, that our people don’t have what so called as ‘visionary thinking’ at my major at college. Or it does actually prove that Indonesians aren’t that poor?

Hmm.. what do you think?
