Did you know that Visit Indonesia Campaign has been published since many years ago? I didn’t. I thought it was publicly advertised in the recent years. Not until I found this photo below on an old album at home.
It was the young version of me, my sister, and my mom on, as you can see from the picture, 1991 . I don’t remember where it was, but Dad said the photo was taken in front of Grand Hyatt Jakarta.
A little bit funny don’t you think? That we campaigned for foreigners to visit Indonesia in 1991 when the campaign itself was held on 1991 . Kinda misprepared, right? Because people don’t just go to some place when they see the advertisement. They have to prepare the budget. They have to set the date at first.
We should have been campaigning since 2010 or even 2009 for Visit Indonesia Year 2011 . So that in the real 2011 , we’ll be ready if tourist are coming to Indonesia. It’s so a big mistake if we campaign Visit Indonesia Year 2011 in 2011 itself. A kind mistake that we’ve been doing since a long time ago in the past, huh?
As Soekarno said, “Don’t ever forget about the past (Jangan sesekali melupakan sejarah – Ind)”. Take a lesson from the past, shall we start publishing Visit Indonesia Year 2012 from this moment?

I think our beloved country have a unique habit, all of sudden habit… aka. everything is dadakan….
some time ago I heard Indonesia try to be the host of world cup on the next 2018? or something like that….. I think it also all of sudden(if it can be true)….

hmmm, yeah I agree, but how about 2026? I heard news that Indonesia & Malaysia gonna hold it together….. is that possible?… but there is a word, everything is possible……

on january 2002 i was in my 2nd year in junior high
july 2002 i was in my senior year
not possible for Indo to held it together with Malay. not only because we have bad bilateral relation with them, but also because FIFA no longer permitted joint-host. only single country can host a world cup event. FIFA said, Japan-South Korea was the last joint-host
